Women’s Sports Are Booming & WWE’s Breaking Records

WWE’s global reach on Netflix, the explosive growth in women’s sports, and what's next for me!

Hey you!

I've got an action-packed newsletter for you today that I'm super excited about. Here's what's coming up:

  • WWE just dropped their Netflix numbers (plus a key lesson about platform strategy)

  • Powerful insights from sports marketing execs on trust, content, and the explosive growth in women's sports

  • 12 years of YouTube wisdom - including the #1 lesson that changed everything for me

  • Some personal news…

Let's dive right in!

WWE x Netflix: The Numbers Are In! 📺

First, I wanted to look at some numbers from WWE's debut on Netflix...

The numbers are mind-blowing.

WWE Raw's Netflix premiere reached 4.9 million global viewers!

To put this in perspective, Raw was averaging around 1.5 million viewers on traditional TV.

But here's the really exciting part – the show reached viewers across the U.S., U.K., Canada, and Latin America.

Think about this for a second…

Traditional TV reached 1.5M viewers in one market. Netflix hit 4.9M across multiple continents....

That's the power of meeting your audience on platforms they're already using.

For creators and brands, this means two things:

  1. Don't let traditional distribution models limit your reach

  2. Sometimes the best growth opportunities come from being first on new platforms

This plays perfectly into what I always say...

Focus on where your audience is going, not just where they are right now.

Insights from Sports Marketing Leaders

I saw this super cool article about opportunities and challenges in sports marketing from the words of sports execs...

And I thought it'd be cool to share one of each with you today.

Challenge:

Susan Goodenow from the Chicago Bulls dropped some truth bombs about the constant grind of sports marketing. She emphasized that you can't just "copy and paste" content and expect it to resonate.

LOVED what Susan said here because there's a lesson in here for anyone who has an audience.

Trust is always number 1.

Everything you do should be in alignment with maintaining the trust of your audience.

Because if you lose that, you'll lose your brand.

Opportunity:

Lauren Millet from Racing Louisville FC highlighted the massive momentum in women's sports, and she's absolutely right.

The opportunity here is unprecedented – we're seeing record-breaking attendance, viewership, and engagement across women's sports.

What's really exciting is how this momentum is creating a flywheel effect.

More visibility leads to more fan engagement, which attracts more sponsors, which enables better production and marketing, which brings in even more fans.

The NWSL, WNBA, and women's college sports are all riding this wave, and we're just at the beginning.

Speaking of opportunities and growth…

Yesterday marked my 12-year YouTube anniversary! 🎉

I shared 12 lessons I've learned along the way, and I want to highlight my absolute favorites:

#9 really hits home: "Trust is the #1 metric indicating a YouTube channel's success."

This perfectly aligns with what we discussed earlier about brand trust.

#7 is a game-changer: Understanding that you can't do it all alone and learning to delegate to talented team members.

But above all, #1 remains the most powerful…

Just press publish.

None of the other lessons matter if you don't take action and put your content out there.

I graduated from Penn State!

What started as a freshman who wanted to drop out turned into an incredible journey of growth, collaboration, and divine timing.

Through the ups and downs, from struggling with YF Visuals to launching Basketball Today and TDAY Sports, every step led to where I am now.

What's next?

I'm going all in on TDAY Sports.

No jobs, no side hustles – just pure focus on building something special.

As always, thank you for being part of this journey.

Have a blessed week!

Justin
